British tennis star Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and will keep coach for 2026.
The British player reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her remaining competitions of the year due to a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.
Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.
Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.
She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.
Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her during parts of the season.
Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after a long gap in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.
She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.
She secured 28 matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.
The British number one reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.
Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.
She mentioned that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
