Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
